2022 SIAM Wasatch Student Chapters Conference

The SIAM student chapter at the University of Utah is excited to announce it will be hosting this year’s Wasatch SIAM Student Conference. The aim of this conference is to cultivate connections amongst early career applied math students, researchers, and faculty members from universities along the Wasatch front and the state of Utah. The conference will consist of a series of informal presentations, as well as engaging talks from professionals in industry. Graduate and undergraduate students are especially encouraged to apply to present their research interests.

Registration and Funding

    Registration is free and open to all individuals who are affiliated to a college or university in the state of Utah, Colorado, Idaho, and Montana. *Those who are interested in applying to give a talk should refer to the Speaker Applications section below.* If you are interested in attending this year’s conference and not presenting, please fill out the registration form here . *General audience registration for this event will close on Friday, September 9th, 2021 at 5 pm MST.* Any questions can be directed to Kaitlin O'Dell at odell@math.utah.edu.

Speaker Applications

    Slots will be made available to several graduate and undergraduate students at colleges or universities in the state of Utah who wish to speak at this year’s conference. Graduate students whose applications are accepted will be given a 20-25-minute time slot with the ask that 5 of those minutes be allotted for audience questions. Undergraduate students whose applications are accepted will be given a 10-15-minute time slot with the ask that 3 of those minutes be allotted for audience questions.
